If you want to read a few answers to these questions i've been asked.

-Tell us about yourself where are you from and when and how did you get started concept art?

- What inspired you to become an Artist?

- Where do you currently work and what are some of the things that you have worked on?

- Could you take us through your creative process when starting a new concept art piece?

- What are some things that impotent to you when working on a piece?

- What artists influenced your work and whom do you admire?

- Is there anything you'd like to work on if you had the chance?

- Do you have any advice for the aspiring artist out there?

memo:

Since I lost my hard drive, I’ve been working to replace my current portfolio with a new batch of works by the end of this year. School had been busy as usual, I’m glad to have a habit of painting in school with a bunch of friends. Everyone’s improving fast when we are motivating each other. Aside from that, there hasn’t been much excitement in terms of this semester. Just head down working for the most part. Gotta work hard to get into the industry full-time soon enough.

Yea, i'm still selling prints here:
All prints are professionally printed on 80 pound Supreme Gloss card stock.

New prints are offered at 15 dollars per print

To place order, please include a shipping address, title of the images, and your name, I will get back to you asap with a total. Shipping cost may apply.

Imagine FX, and Fanexpo. Sunday Live-Stream.

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 6, 2009, 1:06 PM

Live Stream Session is FINISHED. A Huge thank you to everyone who dropped by! I plan on doing more of these soon. so i'll post a journal when that happens. and hopefully this time i'll set a time at least a day before, so you can catch it.

I think my first session turned out pretty well, still trying to get use to the Procaster gadgets tho. Feel free to check out the reruns!

Topic is on finishing up a futuristic piece, and added an extended level of polish.

Channel is just my name "frankhong"

Hey! FXPose ! this thingy have my page featured, hopefully it'll be on shelves in Canada soon. And the theme this time is LANDSCAPE !

FANEXPO was great!, it was super nice to meet up with my old and new friends. I was there by myself, tending the table. so didn't get to walk around as much. But isn't that the case everytime. Never the less, it was a exceptional experience. A lot of nice people came by my table, it was enjoyable to chat with them. I actually love to chat with everyone about just anything, the convention is just a great opportunity for that.

The artists there are great! I found my post-highschool buddy Jade:iconh-heika: and her gang, and i shamelessly tagged along to dinner after saturday's con. HAaa, everyone was super friendly. Thanks people! come find me at sheridan and i'll buy everyone ice-cream. serisouly, it was nice making new friends.

I want to thanks everyone who came by my table, to purchase, chat, or just introduce yourself. It was wonderful to meet you guys. I'm incredibly honored to have your support, and it's such a privilege for me to be where i am. Huge thank-yous to the artists who came by and traded prints with me, Absolutly love the prints i got. Hope to see you all again soon.

Projects:

I'm trying to keep freelance projects to a minimum, only keeping the interesting ones for now. School is coming up pretty fast, I'm taking a couple of students for tutor this semester, so if you are a student in sheridan, and you are interested, please give me a shout. I provide help for Life-drawing, and Digital painting. both first and 2nd years. Thanks!

and ALSO! almost forgot.

:iconchinesewarri0r: gave me an idea to do some live-stream painting sessions on my free time. I'm wondering if people are interested in that. Since i rarely make videos and tutorials these days, live-stream seem straight forward enough to just click and go. while i'm still trying to figure out if there's a record function for people who missed the live to watch re-runs, for those of you that are interested, what topic would you like me to cover? I'll set the time to be this weekend if enough people tunes in for it.!

My friend :iconjepps: entered the Bayonetta contest! GO and VoTE for him! Levi Somerville his name is, it's the first one on the list and it's really well done. I encourage you to check it out. [link]

Projects:

On the projects side, I’ve been busy with a couple of freelance project, as well as some pretty promising NDA productions. I’m in collaboration with a filmmaker out of the Boston for a new science fiction film. I’m also working on a next-gen TBA MMO title from EA games. And I’m on a Red Alert 3 Mod team for fun and kicks.

I worked with Edge of Reality Inc. on one of their pitch titles in the past semester, learned a lot in a short amount of time. Producing concept work on demand at a professional pace is very different from just painting for fun, hopefully I’m making myself ready for the big gigs later on. Unfortunately I can’t share any artworks that haven’t been released under the contract.

Hope I can find a good intern somewhere next year. Once I get my CV updated.

Summer, Convention, and Projects

Journal Entry: Thu May 21, 2009, 4:35 PM

yooo, for those of who still read journals and wonder why I haven't written anything down for such a long time, my sincerest apologies. It is summer time, and I’ve been too relaxed for too long.

YES, the final words is I will attend Anime North 09, alongside with :iconlongai:, we will share a table, hopefully. And all the new prints will be available for sale during the con, and also after, for online orders:
