What kind of brushes do you use to get those effects on CS3? o.o I've been using the program for years and haven't been able to get something that clean.

Life... is a carrot. Reflect on that. :dygel:
:iconfrankhong:
i use a mixture of custom brush sets, namely levi's brush, Baronteri's , and matias' (m@) plus a couple of i made myself. i work on a intuos 3.

What technique do you use to make speed paintings?
:iconfrankhong:
i use different brush combinations, and use a lot of overlaps. there's no strict rules in speedpainting, mostly just go by feel. Being able to do speedpainting means accurate and precise brush controls plus a good sense in lighting and color, also have to imply most of the elements instead of pushing each one out. it's a very loose and spontaneous process, not just painting fast, but thinking fast as well. generally the more you know about the subject, the smoother the process will go. it's really not something can be taught, but learned by practice and analyze.

Failed attempt? Wow.. I don't think so. It's really good! =D
I've tried speed painting and couldn't get anything out of it... xD Great Job!

Good answer. o_o''
Well, I'm not a very good artist so I can't give you great advice, but anyway. If you feel you need some more practice, the best idea is to try out new techniques. There are a few techniques for starting out. One is starting from nothing but a blank picture (which is harder, for me at least). The other technique is quite interesting; take a stock picture and manipulate it until it starts to look like something and then add to it. You could always give it a shot. If it doesn't work out, stick with your regular technique.
Not sure if that'll help much. Keep up the speed painting though, I enjoy looking at your work. =P

:community: Wow ...

If I could PS like you PS ... I would be a happy camper! .. But being a pixel re-arranger, and bevel program affectionado, I am not qualified, except to say that this is great, and bewitching in a way .. It is good you gave it a mystery-linked name!

Speed painting blows me away anyway .. it's about like magic to my frame of digital creating. (I watched a video of it.) It's art on the fly, and it bespeaks your talent. Good talent!! :flowerpot:

I do not know if you are interested, but there is a big sale going on over at (who ever handles Painter). ... The big item you get is Painter's very powerful brushes (called most powerful in the biz) and then some tutorials and a mystical lighting program to expedite putting a mood on an image. Sale runs 'til August 30 I believe.

Oi, you don't need a mentor. Stop kidding. I am the one who needs a mentor *hint hint*

It looks great, stop dragging your self down. Go a few days without painting and then come back when you feel inspired. Take a break.
