(I hope you don't mind, I'm an art major so I do a lot of practice for critiques on DA)

The piece itself is great. Lots of texture and feel to the drawing. Reflection on the ground, the highlight and enough information to create the tiling on the side. The 'shadows' on the walls are a little confusing. Is there supposed to be graffiti or dirt kind of stuff on the walls? As far as the roof, is it supposed to be the light shining towards the viewer, or is is kind of a translucent/reflective surface doing the same sorta thing as the floor?

good observations..! to answer your questions, the dark spots on the wall are quite randomly placed to imply the roughness and dirts, i tried to give the image an aged effect, but the spots itself is quite quickly laid down without much definition or rather thoughts.. for the roof material i was thinking of coated stripes of wood with limited reflectivity, some the the lighter areas of the roof reflects the pipe lights mounted on top, serves as a weaker 2ndary light source.

yea, i'll consider that actually, the inside of a cathedral would be a wonder full view to show perspective and lighting.. i'll look up some references and possibly paint a piece like that some time later...

i like this so much, i think it's different from your other pieces... like many of them focus on more open spaces, this one is more intimate/closed and the feeling is very well conveyed~

the tiles on the walls and the stairs at the door help give it an enclosed feel, very awesome.

yup... this one is really small in scale as compared to my other pieces.. haven't really painted much of the same kind.. i should try more to focus on objects rather than structures for once... lol
