"The Last Blue Zone" Photoshop CS3 Matte Painting 10 hours
resurgere stock image used 1 cloud scape shot (sky6_0259) 1 snow land (nature14_6239)
Other images of Toronto cityscape photography by myself (Frank Hong)
one of the first matte paintings in my gallery. started with combining images selectively to create the basic setting and light direction, and sketched in the cityscape before the actual detailed painting. the theme of the image is based on one all time classic pc game, "Command and Conquer" and it's famous Tiberium crystals.
hope you like this one, please leave comments and critiques.
... awesome... i hate you! as for fixes, you could do better on the sky background, although the part near the ground works, stuff above that doesnt. specially on the upper left. other than that, like i said... AWESOME!!! keep it up dude.
ah.. that didn't work like i planned then.. kinda messed up on the depth of the fog.. it was apart of the foreground. i should go back and fix some problems then repost..!
I knew... I just knew.... that you were *hic* that you were made for this OMG- I CAN'T STAND THE GREATNESS! The green makes me spazz a bit, but that's because I don't fully comprehend it. Other than that, it's.... Let's just say I'm holding back real tears of awe
Gorgeous detail and color scheme. Not sure how much depth you were planning for the two cities, but they look a little flat, or like they're just very close to each other in depth. More haziness for the right city? Just has that feeling of wanting to be further back in space!
This is the kind of stuff I want to do some day.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
